Welcome to Oviedo High School's Senior Project! A fitting conclusion to four years at Oviedo High School, the Senior Project will require students to show evidence of mastery of the English curriculum while developing professional skills to succeed in the world beyond high school. The Senior Project will challenge students; when they rise to that challenge, they will gain confidence and pride.
Although this project is implemented in the senior English class, it incorporates skills from a variety of disciplines, as well as critical thinking skills, time and resource management skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills. Not only will seniors be covering the English curriculum (reading, writing, speaking, and researching), they will also be learning to teach themselves. In short, this project will help our graduates become a life-long learner.

Senior Project is a comprehensive research project requiring seniors to apply research findings to the world outside the classroom and to develop professional attitudes and skills that will help them succeed in the world beyond high school.
Oviedo High School piloted the Senior Project in 2005 in eight senior English classes. The Senior Project is now required of all English IV students. In 2005, we showcased 60 seniors and awarded $2,300 in scholarships. In 2011, we showcased over 100 projects and awarded over $7,000 in scholarships.
