What's new?

Our SRO, Officer Gabe Roberts, was promoted this week to Sergeant. We are very proud of you, and we will also miss you greatly as he moves back to the road. Thank you for your service and congratulations! You have done a great job at OHS and for our schools in Oviedo!

Fox 35 has once again selected OHS to be televised for the Game of the Week. The date is Friday 10/17/25 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Select student groups will be participating, and we will be televised out of the RWL.

9 weeks exams start next week and count 20% of the quarter grade.

Pep Rally Dates for 2025-2026 are:
  • 10/17 OHS vs. University Orange City Fox 35 Game of the Week 9-11 (Not on a pep rally schedule/regular bell schedule)
  • 10/24 OHS vs Evans (Homecoming)
We will be on an activity pep rally bell schedule on 10/3 and 10/24. Need to still give your student permission to attend? The permission form is open now until Wednesday, October 1st at midnight.

10/25 Homecoming Dance at OHS.
10/30 Varsity Football Game vs. Eustis (Date change)
4/25 Prom at the Rosen Shingle Creek.
A graduation date will be determined around Winter Break. The reason is the contract with the school board and UCF has to be agreed upon and voted on by the school board. Once that date is known, we will immediately share it with our Oviedo senior families and community.

Picture Make-Up Day for underclassmen is Thursday, September 25th from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. in the Media Center Lobby.

Final Studio Senior Portrait Deadline is November 1st. For seniors who do not want a senior portrait but still want to have their photo in the yearbook, Last Chance Senior Only On-Campus Day is Tuesday, October 28 @ 7:30-12:30pm in he Media Center Lobby.

The one item that all seniors really would love to have is a yearbook. Many times we don't have enough extras at the end of the year and many seniors get left out of this amazing memory. Please make sure you order a yearbook at its least expensive price of $75. Yearbooks are on sale for $75 on www.yearbookforever.com. For parents of seniors, senior ad/shoutout pages are available on the site as well! Senior ads are due by October 31st! Congratulations to our Students of the Week!

Valerie Rodriguez Mendez - LCDR Haverkamp said, "Cadet Rodriguez Mendez did an amazing job coordinating and running the One Blood Drive on Sept 11th, 2025. Her planning and organization skills ensured that Oviedo High School Blood Drive was extremely successful."

Dane Polidore - Ms. Bess said, "Dane is an outstanding student who consistently participates with enthusiasm. He always submits high-quality work and shows great respect to both adults and his peers."

Paige Benson - Ms. Kilmer said, "Paige was an integral member of the AP Stat team last year and currently is my right hand. She keeps me organized (this is a difficult feat) and truly understands how my AP Stat class works. Paige is positive and always willing to do anything that is needed. Thank you Paige, for all you do!"

Morgan Wortham (not pictured) - Ms. Van Smith said, "Morgan is the most organized, responsible and helpful student that I have in my Culinary 4 class. He is always prepared and committed to fulfill the goals of the class.in the most helpful and diligent manner. He is simply amazing!"

Gianna Fusco (not pictured) - Mr. Langevin said, "Gianna led the editorial yearbook team through our Elite Weekend workshop in September and has been doing an incredible leading the photo team for our publications."

Jace Maduro-Breedy - Ms. Knaub said, "Jace is a model student! His perseverance and kindness are truly impressive."

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Week!

Teacher of the Week - Cherie Brinkman

Ms. Brinkman has been named teacher of the week for her work in agriscience. Ms. Brinkman is currently teaching a new class to OHS, Agriscience. The district office visited her classroom and was impressed with what she was been teaching. In addition, Ms. Brinkman was named the Seminole County Agriculture Teacher of the Year!

Employee of the Week - Rachel Drake

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Drake, who has been named Employee of the Week for her outstanding dedication and teamwork!
Ms. Drake went above and beyond by ensuring all IEPs were entered correctly, demonstrating incredible attention to detail and commitment to our students' success. She also worked seamlessly with the clerical staff to help fill clerical spots when needed and collaborated closely with the ESE team.
Her hard work, flexibility, and positive attitude make a real difference every day. Thank you, Ms. Drake, for all you do!
SSC Decision Day

SSC Decision Day - Friday, November 7, 2025

Explore your Future at Seminole State!
All SCPS Seniors are invited to Decision Day at Seminole State's Sanford/Lake Mary Campus on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. Transportation and lunch are provided. Permission slips are due to school counselors by Friday, Oct. 31.
Attendees will tour the Raider Center athletic facility, enjoy games, photo ops, and free food while learning about the College's 200+ academic and career programs, scholarships and ways to pay for college. Join us for Decision Day and see how you can Go State. Go Far.

Seniors! If you've not gone to the DSP studios to get your senior portrait, they are bringing their studio to us for one day only, October 28th in the Media Center lobby. You must fill out this form to reserve your time. If you've not gotten your portrait taken at the studio, this is your very last chance to be included in your senior yearbook! We earned the highest A+ performance points among all traditional high schools in Seminole County Public Schools—second only to Crooms Academy, which is a magnet school. Our highest increase was 12% in college and career acceleration out performing all the high schools in SCPS.
