Oviedo High School’s Nadia Charcap Honored with Excellence in Education Award

We are proud to announce that Nadia Charcap, a dedicated and inspiring educator at Oviedo High School, has been named one of the four winners of the prestigious Florida Excellence in Education Award. This honor, presented during Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizes educators who have made outstanding contributions to their students, schools, and communities. Winners were selected from nominations submitted by principals, teachers, parents, and students, and each received a $2,500 award from the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Ms. Charcap’s passion for Hispanic culture and language shines through in every lesson she teaches. Her classroom is a vibrant space where students are immersed in music, literature, art, and history, fostering a deep appreciation for Hispanic heritage. Her innovative teaching methods and unwavering support empower students to excel academically and personally, with consistently high performance on AP Spanish exams.
Beyond the classroom, Nadia is a mentor, collaborator, and leader who strengthens our school culture and inspires those around her. Her impact is felt not only in student achievement but also in the lasting relationships she builds with families and alumni. Oviedo High School is honored to celebrate Nadia Charcap’s well-deserved recognition and the incredible legacy she continues to build.

What's new?

As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire Oviedo High School community. Your continued support, encouragement, and partnership make all the difference in the lives of our students and staff. I’m truly thankful to work and live in such a caring and committed community. It’s a privilege to serve as principal here, and I’m reminded daily of how special this place is.

In addition, as we head into the holiday season, I want to remind our Oviedo High School families and students that you're never alone. If you or someone you know needs support during the break, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ve included a list of helpful community mental health resources below. Our goal is to ensure every member of our Lion family feels cared for and supported. Wishing you all a safe, warm, and peaceful holiday season.

Upcoming Events

4/25 Prom at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

A graduation date will be determined around Winter Break. The reason is the contract with the school board and UCF has to be agreed upon and voted on by the school board. Once that date is known, we will immediately share it with our Oviedo senior families and community.

If you are interested in any club at OHS, please click below for the listing of all clubs and the sponsors.

The one item that all seniors really would love to have is a yearbook. Many times we don't have enough extras at the end of the year and many seniors get left out of this amazing memory. Please make sure you order a yearbook at its least expensive price of $80. Yearbooks are on sale for $80 on www.yearbookforever.com. oviedianyearbook@gmail.com with any questions!
