This week we celebrate Shawn Knaub for going above and beyond to spread holiday cheer! Shawn willingly stepped into the role of Santa Claus for our preschool students—and he was the real deal! With a jolly laugh and a twinkle in his eye, he made the day magical for our little ones. He read stories, handed out candy canes, and created memories that will last a lifetime. A big thank you to Shawn for embodying the spirit of the season and making such a positive impact.

We are thrilled to recognize Shamilya Buckner, our amazing Attendance Secretary, as this week’s Employee of the Week! Shamilya has been diligently managing substitute coverage and handling all the notes for excused absences since the start of the school year. Her willingness to learn new systems keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. What truly sets Shamilya apart is her kind and calm demeanor. She approaches every task with a positive attitude and a smile, making the office a brighter place for everyone. Thank you, Shamilya, for your hard work and dedication—you are an essential part of our team!

🏆 #1 High School in SCPS by Points for A+ Grade

We earned the highest A+ performance points among all traditional high schools in Seminole County Public Schools—second only to Crooms Academy, which is a magnet school. Our highest increase was 12% in college and career acceleration out performing all the high schools in SCPS.

🤝 #1 in PTSA Membership

Our Parent Teacher Student Association had the highest membership of any SCPS high school, showing the strength of our family-school partnership.

🏅 #1 in Seminole County SAC Athletics

Oviedo High led the county in SAC athletic achievements, a testament to our student-athletes’ hard work and our coaches’ commitment.
