Congratulations Lions!

Congratulations to our Florida Dairy Farmer Award Winners! Delaney Sloane is the Class 6A Girls Volleyball Player of the Year and Coach Darty is the Class 6A Coach of the Year! Go Lions!

DECA competed in state semi-final run-offs this past weekend, and we have results!

Sofie An finished 4th in the state in Principles of Finance
Joseph Speer & Cooper Garvey finished 3rd in the state in Marketing Management Team Decision-Making!
Emily Kee finished 2nd in the state in the Food Marketing Series and will be proceeding onward to the State championship later this year!

DECA is brand new this year and these were great 1st-year results! DECA prepares leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through competitive events and real-world experiences. 
 

Upcoming Events

4/25 Prom at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

5/18 at 8:30 a.m. at the UCF Addition Financial Arena. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Each senior will be given 10 graduation tickets at graduation practice. Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 cash only at the graduation practice.

The one item that all seniors really would love to have is a yearbook. Many times we don't have enough extras at the end of the year and many seniors get left out of this amazing memory. Congratulations to our Students of the Week!

Aiden Tesinksy - Mr. Brendlinger said, "Aiden is an extremely talented performer who had a leading role in GREASE and is currently playing the role of Charlie Brown in our children's show this month--but he is also kind, respectful, encouraging, and a joy to work with."

Amelie Nicolas-Francois Leichtle - Mr. Handler said, "Amelie is an amazing student. She truly respects her studies, her teachers and her friends."

Adam Ibrahim - Ms. Fenton said, "Adam is a dedicated and conscientious student who consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to learning. He actively engages in class discussions and frequently asks thought provoking questions, showing genuine curiosity and a desire to deepen his understanding."

Makenzie Perri - Ms. DiCarolis said, "Makenzie is always willing to help, offer information, and is overall an asset to my classroom!"

Ashley Carpenter (not pictured) - Ms. Isler said, "As our dividend Ashley is always has such a positive energy and quick to help with anything that comes up in the front office. She takes time out of her day to make us laugh."

Gabriella Marzariegos - Ms. MacCracken said, "I have had the pleasure of teaching Gabby for two years now and without fail, Gabby shows up eager to learn, with a positive attitude, puts forth full effort daily and ready to collaborate with her peers."

Teacher of the Week: Ms. Miranda Masoud

This week, we are proud to spotlight Ms. Miranda Masoud, whose passion for teaching French continues to enrich every level of the program at Oviedo High School. Ms. Masoud has woven a series of inspiring projects and activities into each course, ensuring students experience the French language and culture in meaningful, creative, and rigorous ways.
In her classroom, students are encouraged to embrace creativity, self-expression, precision, and cultural curiosity. Her beautifully designed presentations, thoughtfully organized lessons, and genuine love for teaching create an engaging environment where learners thrive.
Ms. Masoud’s commitment to excellence is evident each day—especially as she skillfully prepares and delivers four different preps. Her dedication, preparation, and high expectations have produced fantastic work from her students and elevated the entire program.
Congratulations, Miranda, and thank you for the outstanding work you do for our Lions each day! Your creativity, care, and professionalism are deeply valued.

Employee of the Week: Matt Guglielmello

This week, we proudly recognize Matt Guglielmello, Assistant Principal, for his outstanding contributions to Oviedo High School. Matt has played a pivotal role in the development and refinement of our master schedule, ensuring that every detail supports both student needs and instructional quality.
In addition to his scheduling work, Matt has been instrumental in helping the entire administrative team understand and utilize the Goal Tracker system. His clear explanations and hands-on support have empowered administrators and therefore teachers to more easily identify students who may need additional support.

Matt exemplifies professionalism, consistently going the extra mile to assist others. His attention to detail, reliability, and strong teamwork make a meaningful difference every day. He approaches challenges with a solution‑oriented mindset and is always willing to step in wherever he is needed.

We earned the highest A+ performance points among all traditional high schools in Seminole County Public Schools—second only to Crooms Academy, which is a magnet school. Our highest increase was 12% in college and career acceleration out performing all the high schools in SCPS.

🤝 #1 in PTSA Membership
Our Parent Teacher Student Association had the highest membership of any SCPS high school, showing the strength of our family-school partnership.

🏅 #1 in Seminole County SAC Athletics
Oviedo High led the county in SAC athletic achievements, a testament to our student-athletes’ hard work and our coaches’ commitment.
