The one item that all seniors really would love to have is a yearbook. Many times we don't have enough extras at the end of the year and many seniors get left out of this amazing memory. Please make sure you order a yearbook at www.yearbookforever.com. oviedianyearbook@gmail.com with any questions!

Dear Senior Parents,

The WROR TV team is excited to announce two ways to celebrate your senior in the WROR TV Senior Video that premieres before Senior Sunset in the auditorium and then plays before graduation at UCF. The video will be posted for free on May 13th here: https://oviedojournalism.com/2026seniorvideo/.

Photo Shoutout: Free
For a photo shoutout, please submit 4 photos of your student from across their childhood. This has been an Oviedo staple for senior video since its creation 30 years ago. This can be a great chance to celebrate (or playfully embarrass) your senior. Link for photo shoutout: https://forms.gle/63EdCRKNLLaJWhYv7. We design your slide for you. An example is on the form itself.

Video Shoutout: $15
For a premium and more personal shoutout, our video shoutouts return! For this, you film a 20 second video and shout out your senior directly. For previous year's examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMVGEU_9-qU (video tributes starts at 41:56). This is the link for video shoutout: https://forms.gle/S4JaTDkXnvZfDqkb9. More directions can be found on the form. As a fundraiser for WROR TV, Each video is $15 for inclusion paid via MySchoolBucks (https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/prdembd?ref=ZZI5ZOKY9Z04VE4_ZZ69N4GVSD9TEZ).

If you’re still waiting on your proof for your senior ad from the yearbook team, thank you for your patience. We are working hard to finish proofs by the end of the month. All senior ad space has been sold, and no additional spaces can be offered at this time. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Valerie Rodriguez stepped in to provide calm and accurate translation in the clinic, helping staff communicate clearly with the family during a stressful moment. Their maturity, awareness, and willingness to help others exemplify what it means to be a Lion."

Teacher and Employee of the Week

Hueston

Congratulations to our Teachers of the Week!

Teacher of the Week: Mr. Matt Hueston

Mr. Hueston was nominated by a student. The student said, "For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of knowing Mr. Matt Hueston, and I truly believe he deserves to be recognized as Teacher of the Week. Mr. Hueston consistently goes above and beyond to make sure every student gets the support they need. He is kind, patient, and incredibly dedicated—not just to teaching, but to helping students feel confident and capable. In my experience, he’s not only one of the smartest and most caring teachers at our school, but also a true friend to anyone who gets to know him. Mr. Hueston has helped me tremendously, both in school and in life, and I know countless others feel the same way. Anyone who has the chance to learn from him is genuinely lucky. I also believe I am going to able to graduate because of Mr. Hueston. Thank you."

For these reasons and many more, I’m proud to nominate Mr. Matt Hueston as Teacher of the Week.
Carol Howe

Congratulations to our Employee of the Week!

Employee of the Week: Carol Howe

This week, we are proud to recognize Carol Howe as our Employee of the Week! Carol serves as a paraprofessional in our ESE classroom, and although she is new to Oviedo High School, she has already made a tremendous impact. Carol approaches every day with patience, compassion, and a calm professionalism that brings out the best in our students. Whether she is supporting individualized instruction, assisting with behavior plans, helping students transition between activities, or stepping in wherever needed, Carol handles all types of tasks with a positive attitude and a true commitment to student success. Her willingness to learn quickly, jump in with confidence, and collaborate with teachers has made her an invaluable part of our team.

Carol is shining like a star at OHS, and we are grateful for the heart she brings to our ESE program. Congratulations, Carol—and thank you for everything you do for our Lions!
