Welcome Coach Kaz

Hi all! My name is Coach Kaz, and I am super excited to join Oviedo High School as the new Head Cheer Coach. I have 4+ years of coaching experience, and am a former competitive cheerleader of 17 years. Throughout my athletic career, I’ve earned top 3 finishes at The Cheerleading Worlds and The Summit, along with two runner up titles at FHSAA State Championships. As a coach, I’ve led teams to back to back UCA All Star National Championships in 2025 and 2026. I’m passionate about building a positive, disciplined, and hardworking team culture, and I’m ready to raise the standard while helping athletes grow as athletes and  individuals!😊

Her passion for the sport and the way she lifts up those around her make her a great representative of our program.

Pierce has improved not only in his sport but as a leader on his team. As a new starter this season, Pierce has risen to the occasion and become a true offensive threat for the Lions. Students of the Week

SOTW

Congratulations to our Students of the Week!

Congratulations to our Students of the Week!

Camden Miko - Ms. Huffman recognized Camden for his $38,000 scholarship to Full Sail.

Lillian Sisco (not pictured) - Ms. Hueston and Mr. Richmond said, "Lillian is an all around wonderful student to have in class. She always tries her hardest, and is putting forth all her effort into getting good scores on her tests. She is focused on doing what needs to be done in all of her classes, and is an overall wonderful human to anyone she comes across. She has maintained excellent grades all year because of her strong work ethic, and is a bright light to all who surround her."

Uriel Plecic - Ms. Davis said, "Uriel has come such a long way since the beginning of the year. He is a shy student who had difficulty communicating with staff at his off campus worksite in the WBLE program. Since January, Uriel is now working on tasks that are normally assigned to managers. He is talking to fellow staff members and engaging in conversation with his job coach and peers. We are truly proud of the progress that Uriel is making in preparing for future employment in his community."

Cassi Patrick - Ms. Kovaleski said, "Cassi is the sweetest, most down to earth person who always manages a smile for everyone around her! She works extremely hard both academically and in sports and has the most amazing attitude!!"

Maria Medeiros de Alencar (not pictured) - Ms. Demiins said, "Maria is an incredible example of what student leadership looks like at Oviedo High School. She didn’t just join the Science National Honor Society—she built it from the ground up. Maria organized the first meetings, wrote the chapter’s constitution, and handled every detail needed to get the organization officially approved. Thanks to her drive and follow‑through, SNHS is now a thriving, active group on campus. Her initiative, reliability, and genuine passion for science make her the kind of student who lifts others up, and she deserves to be recognized as Student of the Week."
