Sebastian Galeano has established himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in the area, combining outstanding athletic performance with exceptional leadership and character. A Yale University commit and three-year team captain, Galeano has become the heartbeat of his program and a player his teammates look to for guidance both on and off the field.

Last season, Galeano put together an impressive campaign, throwing for 2,300 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He has continued that success this year, already accumulating 800 passing yards and seven touchdowns while helping lead his team through another strong season.

While his statistics speak for themselves, those closest to the program point to his leadership as his greatest strength. As a three-year captain, Galeano has earned the respect of teammates and coaches through his consistency, work ethic, and team-first mentality. His positive attitude and maturity set the standard for everyone around him, making him one of the most influential players in the locker room.

In the classroom, Galeano is equally impressive, carrying a 3.722 weighted GPA while balancing the demands of being a high-level student-athlete. His commitment to excellence academically and athletically exemplifies the qualities that helped him earn an opportunity to continue his football and academic career at Yale University.

Known for being polite, respectful, and approachable, Galeano represents everything a coach could want in a student-athlete. He is a young man of high character whose positive influence extends far beyond the football field. Whether leading a game-winning drive, encouraging a teammate, or representing his school in the community, he consistently demonstrates maturity and poise.

As one of the heart-and-soul leaders of his team, Sebastian Galeano's impact cannot be measured solely by yards and touchdowns. His leadership, character, and dedication have helped shape the culture of the program, leaving a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and the entire school community. With his future set at Yale, there is little doubt that he will continue to excel and inspire wherever his journey takes him.

Our SCPS Student Government Association students recently had the opportunity to learn from an outstanding panel of leaders, including Superintendent Serita Beamon, School Board Chair Dr. Robin Dehlinger, and Sanford Mayor and Oviedo High School Physics Teacher Art Woodruff.

Students engaged in meaningful conversations about leadership, what it truly means to serve others, and the commitment required to make a positive impact in a school and community. Each speaker shared valuable insights and personal experiences, emphasizing that effective leadership is rooted in service, dedication, and a willingness to help others succeed.

Beyond hearing from these accomplished leaders, our SGA members participated in thoughtful discussions with one another, exchanging ideas and learning from the diverse perspectives within the group. The event provided an excellent opportunity for students to grow as leaders, collaborate with their peers, and gain inspiration for how they can make a difference both at Oviedo High School and throughout the community at their high schools. It was a fantastic day of learning, leadership, and collaboration, and we are proud of our students for their engagement and commitment to serving others.

Homecoming tickets will go on sale September 14 through October 9 for $45 per ticket. Students may purchase tickets through MySchoolBucks and must meet the Oviedo High School attendance policy requirements to be eligible to attend the dance. We encourage students to review their attendance status and make plans to purchase tickets early, as all ticket sales will be completed through MySchoolBucks. He has a genuine care and compassion for our students with special needs, and we truly appreciate his kindness, dedication, and continued support."

Wyatt Nowak - Ms. DeLong said, "I taught Wyatt last year and have him again this year- he has been so kind and helpful in my classroom. He is modeling correct procedures and behavior and helping out even without being asked.'

Carlota Medina Lopez - Ms. Kovaleski said, "Carlota was added to my class after several lesson were already taught. She took the initiative to go on eCampus, print and start notes and homework before ever walking in my door! Her drive and dedication was amazing to see and left a lasting impression!"

Ja'myla Hillery - Ms. Buckner said, "Ja'Myla is always willing to lend a helping hand. She acts without being asked, she's a natural leader."

Benjamin Williams - Ms. Byron and Ms. Hernandez said, "He brings so much positive energy to class each day and always is willing to help anyone who needs it."
