What's New?

This past weekend, the Marching Lions competed at the FFCC University Show alongside nearly 20 incredible bands. Oviedo earned 2nd place in our class and 3rd place overall! They won Outstanding Music, Outstanding Color Guard, and Outstanding General Effect. Our Oviedo Color Guard received 1st place over all bands!

After several rehearsals were impacted by storms, the students had only recently put the final production of the show on the field. Despite those challenges, they came out this weekend and improved their score by an incredible 7 points from our previous competition, finishing just half a point away from 2nd place overall! They also received one of the highest scores they have ever had this early in the season. We could not be prouder of the dedication, resilience, and hard work these students continue to show. Now that the entire production is on the field, it’s time to clean, refine, and turn our show into something truly special as we prepare for State.

Come support the Marching Lions this Friday for Senior Night, when we will perform the show following the football game!

Can’t stay that late? Join us for our FREE final Friends & Family Send-Off Performance on Thursday, November 12 at 8:30 PM in the stadium. This will be your chance to see the polished production before the Marching Lions head to State Championships!

Congratulations to our OHS Science Honor Society Inductees and Ms. Demins, their sponsor.

Emma Ganly - Ms. Athos said, "I am nominating Emma because she is amazing! She is one of the sweetest most helpful students. She is such a talented photographer. Emma is so eager to learn more about photography, but she is also eager to help her classmates. In a few short months she has grasped all of the concepts taught in class and is always searching for more. Her search to learn more has taught me as well. I am so thankful to have her as a student."

Robert "Bobby" Greenwood - Mr. Mathews said, "Bobby has voluntarily taken a classmate  in my 6th period PF class "under his wing" and has been helping him (coaching & motivating) when working out together with the Nautilus Room with weight equipment. The student's response has been "I made a good friend. I like him," expressing his appreciation for Bobby's efforts."
